Enjoy a beach bonfire and stargazing.
Ferry 20 minutes to Madeline Island, ranked by Smarter Travel as one of the worlds 10 most secret islands. Then hike the shorelines rock outcrops and verdant northwood forests at Big Bay State Park. Bring a swimsuit if youd like to "take the plunge into Lake Superior.
Enjoy afternoon free time on Madeline Island.
- Shop in a little harbor town, or enjoy a walking tour and learn the areas fascinating history.
- Relax at Big Bay Town Park...barefoot-it on the beach, bask in the sun, or canoe the lagoon.
- Paddleboard or Lake Superior.

- Stop by Toms Burned Down Cafe for a dring and a laugh; its a favorite of locals and visitors alike. (And yes, its just what the name implies.)
Well dine together at the Beach Club, watch the sun set over Lake Gitche Gumee and then ferry back to Bayfield.
Choose between 2 great morning options:
o Sail Superior: Sail among the Apostle Islands, ranked by Sail magazine as one of the countrys 10 best sailing spots. Choose from 2 adventures with Dreamcatcher Sailing: 1)Learn sailing basics on a 2-1/4 hour, hands-on adventure, or 2)opt for a 4-hour sail along the mainlands bluffs and sea caves.
o Take a short hike in a creek as it gurgles and frolics through the woodlands in a series of cascades. Well also sit along the big lake and peek at old fishing boards that rocked and rolled on its waves.

Following dinner at Maggies, hike 1.5 miles on the Houghton Falls Trail, which winds through the Northwoods, into a canyon, and to rock outcrops offering perfect perches overlooking Superior.
Then, listen to waves lap the shore as we enjoy the glow and warmth of our beach bonfire and our friendship. Well star gaze at millions of twinklers in skies unmarred by city lights.

I still cant believe the beauty of those rock formations and sea caves we kayaked through. This trip was pure enjoyment of Gods great earth.
